Your child’s school has a wealth of activities and information to share with you—what a perfect opportunity to make use of the World Wide Web. Unfortunately, many schools lack the technical skills to make their school web site effective. GeoSolve has created a better way for schools to manage their web sites. The product is called netChalk and it allows teachers and students to post their own content using software tools with which they are already comfortable.
Rather than having to learn HTML coding, they generate their content in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Adobe PDF files and then submit these "native" files to the website. Following a quick review of content by the teacher or other staff member, their document becomes available for display on the school's website.
A Georgia school district invested in netChalk, and within the first semester's use was able to free up one of their technical support persons who had previously spent all their time updating the individual web sites for each of the schools. Those updates are now being completed by the students, teachers, and principals who love the fact they can contribute directly to the process.
