Calendar Feature

Integrated within netChalk is a calendar that enables you to quickly and easily publish school events on your web site. All events are added or edited directly through your browser.  The calendar allows for filtering to display events by any combination of:
-Date range
-One or multiple schools,
-and One of multiple categories (Athletics, PTA, Board, Fine Arts, etc.)
The events that match these filters can then be displayed to the screen or printed. Parents with children at more than one school in your district can quickly generate a printed calendar of all activities for those selected schools. School staff persons can update the calendar from any web-browser, but only reviewers have the ability of changing calendar items. The process is simple and secure.

  • Web-interface for viewing, adding and editing calendar events
    Organized at the school level, which allows viewing entries for an individual school or multiple schools simultaneously.
  • Allows recording district-wide events that appear in each individual school Calendar (useful for recording district holidays, etc.)
  • Allows categorizing events and filtering on these categories (for example, “Show me only athletic and fine-art events”).
  • Ability to submit calendar entries is managed by the Reviewer; they themselves can submit or edit entries; as can any other individuals the Reviewer designates.
  • Events can cover multiple days in a range, and can be configured to appear on the Calendar for a user-specified time period.
  • Calendar entries are stored in Microsoft Access format, which allows for a quick population of the Calendar from other sources at beginning of year and supports storing thousands of events without performance loss.
  • Printable format of calendar can be filtered to show events from selected schools, events and date range
